Germany is blessed with an abundance of fresh water bodies. Thousands of lakes and many long flowing rivers and canals. Germany also embraces bicycles and cycling culture and although Germans love to complain about it, the Deutsche Bahn offers train service that many nations could only wish for. The combination of these factors manifests itself through thousands of kilometers of cycling paths and lanes that make outdoor adventure a real joy. Combine the water, bicycles and train service and you get the ultimate eco friendly adventure. Practical vehicles for this are not sufficiently evolved.
It is my deam and work to bring about such a vehicle. Not something that looks like it was made for the Siberian Taiga but rather and elegant, multi-use, light and effective amphibious bicycle that can quickly and easily transform into a watercraft and back again. Utilizing human power as well as solar power and the benefit of electric assist in both usage modes.
The first iteration was tested on the shores of the Großer Zernsee Havel river in Werder in August, 2022. It was a success and is the first step towards achieving the full list of the desired design goals.
